History of StorePOINT International

E-mail Print PDF

The history of StorePOINT is built around pre-press and production. We started life as a pre-press production company and built systems to automate the artwork of catalogues and magazine spreads.

In the early days, this meant working with QuarkXPress 2.12 and using Frontier and QuickKeys to achieve Quark build shortcuts. These developments were so effective that on one project, we were able to produce a 64-page catalogue in 24 hours with just two staff!

When our clients took the work back in-house they soon came back to us, puzzled at how we did the work so efficiently. So, we sold them the actual systems that became our artworking product offering.

Growth through technology

From working with a number of clients to create automated systems that produce press-ready QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign documents, we developed our PointandGo applications.

These are now available in a number of versions, each providing tailor-made functionality to cut the cost, time and hassle of artwork production.

Indeed, a similar tale can be told about our suite of StorePoint applications, the in-store printing system in use at Tesco and several Co-ops.

This PC-based application automates the printing of Point of Sale. The brief we gave ourselves when writing the application with Tesco was to make producing Point of Sale as easy as getting cash from a cash machine; and that is what we have achieved.

With maturing web technology, data can be delivered securely and integrally. So, we have developed online artworking systems that allow users to front-end artwork with a web browser and work remotely - without the need for InDesign and Quark on their computers.
