PointandGo! LocaliseTargeted at a niche market and developed as a web-based application solution to transcreation workflow, PointandGo! Localise (PAGL) has obviously seen great success since late last year. But further more, the picture seems to be getting bigger as Freemans Grattan Holdings UK has signed up and agreed to adopt the system as their major transcreation management tool for German to English catalogue translations, and another additional 15 European languages, although the system fully supports almost any language including those right-to-lefts thanks to QuarkXpress Server 8.

In addition, a few new updates have been deployed to the live site, such as translation costings by tasks, artworks and campaigns based on the translator's rates in different currencies and manager's artwork version updates and restores while keeping all the translation memory. A full list of updates are available at http://www.sp-int.com/.

The next step though, is to create and set up an online translator's community, which supports the PAGL system by feeding highly rated and recommended copywriters, translators and proofreaders. The official name of such community is Transcreation Portal (TCP), which is now live and available at http://www.transcreationportal.com. TCP is an online communication platform for all the transcreation users, managers, and purchasers, or simply put, a Facebook for the ever-growing transcreation industry. But what is more than a Facebook is that members will have full control of their own profile, groups, and networks to raise more business opportunities for their own benefits. Or if you need something to be translated on a deadline, TCP would offer you a search engine service to help you shortlist candidates.

PAGL has a bright future.
